Stephen Jackson says Eagles' DeSean Jackson 'speaking the truth' with controversial posts

Former NBA player Stephen Jackson defended DeSean Jackson on Tuesday night, saying the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver was "speaking the truth" with his controversial social media posts, including an anti-Semitic message that he attributed to Adolf Hitler.

The Eagles called DeSean Jackson's posts "offensive, harmful and absolutely appalling," and the wide receiver later issued two separate statements of apology with "a promise to do better."

"So I just read a statement that the Philadelphia Eagles posted regarding DeSean Jackson's comments. He was trying to educate himself, educate people, and he's speaking the truth. Right? He's speaking the truth. You know he don't hate nobody, but he's speaking the truth of the facts that he knows and trying to educate others," Stephen Jackson said in a video posted on Instagram.

"But y'all don't want us to educate ourselves. If it's talking about the Black race, y'all ain't saying nothing about it. They killing us, police killing us and treating us like s---, racism at an all-time high, but ain't none of you NFL owners spoke up on that, ain't none of you teams spoke up on that. But the same team had a receiver [Riley Cooper] who said the word n----- publicly! They gave him an extension! I play for the Big3. We have a Jewish owner. He understands where we stand and some of the things we say, but it's not directed to him. It's the way we've been treated."

He later deleted the video but appeared to respond to backlash he received with another post:

Record-breaking Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt, revealed photographs on social media late Tuesday of his new baby daughter, the aptly named Olympia Lightning Bolt.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist posted a series of images, complete with a lightning emoji, of his daughter, who was born in May, to celebrate his long-time girlfriend Kasi Bennett's birthday.

"I want to wish my gf a happy birthday," he wrote on his Instagram page. "Now we have started a new chapter together with our daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt I look forward to what the future will bring for us but be reassured that I will be the ROCK for this family."

Bolt, 33, made his name in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and went on to solidify his status at the London and Rio games. Known for his confident swagger on the track and often leaving a gaping berth between him and fellow athletes, as he passed the finish line with arms outstretched. He retired in 2017.

He still holds world records in the 100m and 200m events and confirmed his girlfriend Bennett was expecting a daughter in an Instagram video in March, but this is the first-time images and a name have been revealed.

Celebrity baby names often raise eyebrows. Earlier this year, singer Grimes and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, named their son "X Æ A-Xii" pronounced "Ash," Musk later clarified.

Actress Cameron Diaz and musician Benji Madden announced the birth of their daughter in January "Raddix Madden," while reality television star Malika Haqq and O.T Genasis named their son "Ace."

They had a slight hiccup when football came back, losing against Manchester City and Brighton but have recovered strongly since.

Wins against Southampton, Norwich and Wolves and sealing their place in the FA Cup semi-finals has reinvigorated their season and they almost got the better of Leicester in the league on Tuesday night.

Arteta seems to be establishing control over the squad by taking firm stands against players who find themselves in the headlines for the wrong reasons.

And this stat shows Arsenal are very much on the right track under the Spaniard.

He was appointed just before Christmas, overseeing Arsenal’s goalless draw at Everton on December 21 before officially taking charge when the Gunners drew at Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

Arteta has led Arsenal for 16 Premier League matches and the form table reveals they would be just a point off Manchester City and Chelsea, who are third and fourth respectively.
